Pine Hill is wrapping up the school year with a fun for all summer kick off party.

We’ll have bouncy houses, games, prizes, ice cream, cotton candy, conga lines and groovy tunes from everyone’s favorite DJ Mike!

Break out your favorite summer party gear and get your tickets for the shin dig of the season!

PH Send-Off for Nurse Fedor

You may have heard, our wonderful school nurse, Jill Fedor, will be leaving PH at the end of this school year. It’s time to show Nurse Fedor our gratitude and bid her a warm PH farewell.

The CSA is assembling a slideshow as a community ‘thank you’ card. We invite students, teachers, staff, administrators and parents to participate by sharing a snip-it of your memories. Either with a picture (holding a sign), or a short video (10-15 seconds), finish one of these sentence starters:

What I’ll remember about Ms. Fedor is…

OR

Ms. Fedor made me feel…

For example, a picture with a sign might say “Ms. Fedor made me feel happy and cared for.” Or a video might say, “What I’ll remember about Ms. Fedor is getting tiny chests for my baby teeth.” Make it your own!

Submissions can be emailed to Julie Vitale by June 3rd at martinejd@gmail.com. The slideshow will be shared with Ms. Fedor and all classes at PH.

Gifts for Nurse Fedor

To honor the service Ms. Fedor has given our community, especially during the pandemic, the CSA is dedicating a bench in her name for the new Outdoor Classroom and Garden.

How You Can Get Involved

Support Ukranian Refugees

Ascentria Services for New Americans is one of the few New England organizations welcoming and supporting refugee families from around the world.

Since last September, they have resettled 600 Afghan evacuees in this area and just recently helped settle 100 Ukranians in Massachusetts, with plans to help many more Ukranian families over the coming months.

We reached out to Ascentria and they identified two types of support that would be most helpful right now.

1. Gift cards to grocery stores (Stop and Shop) and places like Target to purchase household items and groceries. Any amount is welcome, and you can drop your gift card in the Pine Hill lobby, or mail to Ascentria, 425 Union Street, West Springfield, MA 01809

2. Household essentials. Please use their Amazon Wishlist (linked here) to donate items such as bedding, plates, glassware, and more that will help Ukrainian and Afghan families get settled in their new homes!
