CSA Weekly Newsletter September 13, 2021Welcome to the Pine Hill CSA Newsletter! This is your weekly dose of news from the Community School Association (CSA). You can expect to hear from us at the start of every week to learn what’s going on at Pine Hill, including reminders about important dates, information about fundraisers, enrichment programs, and volunteer opportunities.

Participate in the Pine Hill 5k! All ages & abilities welcome.The 10th annual Pine Hill 5K is Sunday, September 19. The race begins at 8:30 am, with in-person and virtual options this year. The 1K Kids Dash is also available for kids under 6 ($5) Register for the race online and your child’s class earns points for the classroom participation competition! |

Volunteers are needed for the Pine Hill 5k

Shifts are available for bib pick up and registration, event set up, and water stations.

Back to School Curriculum Nights
|
|
Each grade level will share a presentation about the grade level curriculum that families may view at home - or - you may join your child's teacher for an in-person presentation as follows: Wednesday, September 22nd, Grades K&1 at 6:00 PM, Grade 2 at 6:30 PM Thursday, September 23 Grades 3&4 at 6:00 PM, Grade 5 at 6:30 PM
Note: Wednesday, September 22nd is also the rain date for the CSA Ice Cream Social (5:00-6:30 pm on the front playground). If you are at the ice cream social and you want to attend the K-2 Curriculum Night sessions in-person, you may drop your children at 6 pm or 6:30 pm at the back playground (located behind the school) and Dr. Brown will supervise them :)

Calling All Parents & Caregivers!Classroom Parent is a great way to be involved with your child's life at school and to also help out. Most of the work can be done remotely, and all info will be provided to help guide you. Classroom Parent Responsibilities: Help your child’s teacher to organize classroom volunteering, and some communication to parents Connect the CSA with the parents in your classroom Support your classroom teacher by organizing teacher gifts Act as a resource for new parents If you are a parent new to Pine Hill, this can still be you! Lots of info will be provided and it's a great way to get involved!
If you are interested in becoming a Classroom Parent email Molly Cullum at volunteer@pinehillschoolcsa.org. Include your name, child's name, grade level, and teacher's name. Occasionally there are more volunteers than vacant slots. All assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sherborn Cub Scouts Pack 10 RegistrationSherborn Pack 10 (Grades K-5) is looking forward to pack meetings, overnight events, campouts, the Pine Wood Derby, and more. Registration will take place on Saturday, September 18 from 9:30-11:30 AM at 25 South Main Street in Sherborn on the Front Lawn. Email Xinying Tian at sherborncubscouts@gmail.com with questions.

Registration Open for DS Youth BasketballRegistration for the 2021-2022 season of the DS Youth Basketball, Grades 4-8, is now open. Visit www.dshoops.com to register. Registration deadline is September 30. Tryouts will be held October 2nd and 3rd.

Friends Of The Sherborn Library's "Fall into Fitness" | October 3Enjoy low-impact yoga, adult boot camp, and a kid-friendly fitness session all at Jameson Field on Sunday, October 3rd. Classes begin at 9 am with light breakfast/refreshments to follow. |
