The Parent Forum: Delaying Smartphones & Other Ideas to Support our Children’s Digital Wellness, planned for June 15 at Pine Hill, will postponed until the Fall. (Thank you for the early interest!)

Note that on June 15 at 6:30 pm at the high school auditorium, our school district’s leadership team will be hosting a PK-Grade 12 parent forum on more pressing topics.

2023 Pine Hill CSA Gala Committee - We want you!

The famous Pine Hill CSA Gala will return in 2023!

This exciting Pine Hill parent event is our largest fundraising raising effort, supporting enrichment programming, teacher grants and more! We welcome your talents, ideas and skills to help make the 2023 Gala a huge success.

Please join us for an informational planning meeting at the Heritage on June 16 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm if you are interested in helping.

This will be an all-hands-on-deck effort, with a variety of ways to participate. You do not need to be a member of the CSA to join - we welcome everyone who is interested in carrying on the tradition of this incredible event!

The Fourth Wall

On Friday, June 10th, the hybrid arts ensemble, The Fourth Wall, performed at Pine Hill during All School Meeting. There were 2 shows: 1 for K-2 and 1 for 3-5.

In a variety show format, The Fourth Wall ensemble performed a hybrid music and movement program called "Fruit Flies Like a Banana" that models creativity for cultural arts. The ensemble consisted of 3 talented performers/musicians who played the flute, bass trombone, and percussion all while blending music, dance, theatre, and acrobatics into their program. The Fourth Wall played music while jump roping, hoverboarding, being held in the air and upside down, and even swinging from a moving xylophone.

Each show consisted of 15 individual acts that were performed in an order chosen by the audience.

How You Can Get Involved

Support Ukranian Refugees

Ascentria Services for New Americans is one of the few New England organizations welcoming and supporting refugee families from around the world.

Since last September, they have resettled 600 Afghan evacuees in this area and just recently helped settle 100 Ukranians in Massachusetts, with plans to help many more Ukranian families over the coming months.

We reached out to Ascentria and they identified two types of support that would be most helpful right now.

1. Gift cards to grocery stores (Stop and Shop) and places like Target to purchase household items and groceries. Any amount is welcome, and you can drop your gift card in the Pine Hill lobby, or mail to Ascentria, 425 Union Street, West Springfield, MA 01809

2. Household essentials. Please use their Amazon Wishlist (linked here) to donate items such as bedding, plates, glassware, and more that will help Ukrainian and Afghan families get settled in their new homes!

Summer Reading Ice Cream Party

Wednesday, June 15th, 3-5 pm
Jameson Fields 1 (behind the Fire Station, near the Playground)

The Sherborn Library is hosting a Summer Reading Kick Off Party this year with free ice cream & sprinkles from C&L Frosty and entertainment from Jungle Jim. Sign up for the summer reading program and get some fun prizes to bring home, like a reading journal, button & s'mores kit.
