🪄 All School Meeting welcomes Leland Faulkner

On Friday, March 22, the students of Pine Hill were treated to a fantastic performance by Leland Faulkner!

His show, the World of Wonder, started with an exciting show of shadow puppetry and segued into three stories: a tale of Nasruddin in Turkey, a Maine fisherman, and a Japanese story of origami, even featuring a live dove! The simple style of one man telling a story captivated the students’ attention and imagination. Leland Faulkner’s unique blend of storytelling, magic tricks, and artistry was delightful and riveting!

👩🏽‍🔬 Acton Discovery Museum Visits the 2nd Grade

The 2nd grade participated in a workshop called Physical Changes of Matter.

The children investigated the physical properties of solids, liquids and gases. They observed when using dry ice and liquid nitrogen the phase changes are very dramatic. Together they witnessed a solid change directly to a gas; They were able to see flowers being shattered and saw a banana being used as a hammer. The Discovery Museum teachers always get our students thinking about the world around them!
